The United States Mint commemorated the 35th anniversary of the silver eagle series launching an all-new reverse design, known as type 2, from 2021 to the present. An anticipated change to a series that continues to be the world’s best-selling and most sought-after.
These 1 oz American Silver Eagle coins come in beautiful brilliant uncirculated form and they are accompanied by certificates of authenticity. The U.S. silver eagle appeals to both investors and collectors due to its tasteful design, carefully polished finish, and detail-oriented molding. The weight, purity, and content of each coin, which contains one ounce of pure .999 silver, and have an official legal tender status with a face (nominal) value of $1, backed by the United States Government, making it a safe precious metals investment.
The coins have a newly implemented anti-counterfeiting security feature on the reed.
The obverse displays the iconic “walking liberty” design, which was firstly featured on the United States “half-dollar” currency from 1916 to 1947 and was created by world-renowned sculptor Adolph A. Weinman. The Liberty is depicted wearing a long gown and draping the American flag across her body. Her right hand cradles a bouquet of olive branches, whole her other is held outstretched in front of her. From the lower left, the sun rises. The Roman Empire’s supreme authority was symbolized by his famous iconography.
The newly sculpted bald eagle is depicted on the reverse holding an oak branch with its wings outstretched outwards. Designed by Jennie Norris, with her deeply rooted connections to wildlife, grew inspirations for her design through personal experiences. Ms. Norris was hoping to capture the intimidation of the bird’s stare which represented wisdom and pride.
